Most of you know Google Play Books as an ebook market, but what you don't know is you can use Google Play Books as an EPUB reader. There are many popular EPUB reader apps available in Google Play Store including Moon+ Reader, Lithium: EPUB Reader, BookEra, etc. But Most of them are freemium or ads supported and I hate the most about those app is their UI/UX. If you are a fan of Google's design pattern, then Google Play Books can be your go-to ebook reader with the support of Google's latest design system, Material You. In this short tutorial, I will guide you on how you can sideload EPUB books on Google Play Books and read across devices with the support of syncing progress, notes, and highlights.

First of all, download Google Play Books on your device. You can open the Play Store and search for "Google Play Books" and simply download from there.

Then, open the Google Play Books app and go to the settings page. From the settings page, enable the option of "Enable PDF Uploading".

Then open your desired File Manager app and navigate to the folder where your downloaded EPUB is stored. Open any of the EPUB files via Google Play Books. Your selected book will get uploaded to your Google Play Books, after the upload has been finished you can open that book from Google Play Books. You can use Google Play Books to read and sync progress across devices as long as you are logged in with the same Google account.
